The process of photosynthesis, which is the biochemical mechanism by which 
chlorophyll-containing organisms convert light energy into chemical energy, 
involves a complex series of reactions. During the light-dependent reactions, 
photons are absorbed by chlorophyll molecules embedded within the thylakoid
